An order and a parcel are different records
A product link, a shopping-agent order and an international parcel may all appear in the same buying journey, but they answer different questions. The seller listing identifies an offer. The Hipobuy order records a purchase request and the item's progress toward its Chinese warehouse. A parcel record begins when you select warehoused items for international delivery. If you look at the wrong record, an ordinary handoff can look like a delay or a completed inspection can look like a shipment. Hipobuy's official Order Status Display separates order statuses from submitted-parcel statuses for this reason.
Start with the exact product. Save its URL, seller, selected size or colour and displayed price before you submit it to any agent. A spreadsheet card is useful for finding candidates, but its dated USD figure is not the agent's final payable amount. A seller can change a listing after you saved it. If the link resolves to a different image or option, check the live page before paying. The simplest status question to answer later is also the most important: which exact variant was this order supposed to contain?
From payment to arrival
Hipobuy describes Pending Payment as an order awaiting payment, with automatic cancellation if it is not paid within 72 hours. Pending Orders means the payment was made and the request awaits assignment or processing. Outstanding Payment is different: actual item cost or domestic shipping exceeds the original payment, so a difference needs to be settled before purchase can continue. A notice about an additional amount is therefore not necessarily a new international shipping charge; inspect which stage and line item it belongs to.
| Official order status | What it tells you | Useful next check |
|---|---|---|
| Pending Payment | Order submitted but unpaid | Confirm the order details before the payment deadline |
| Pending Orders | Paid request awaits agent processing | Keep the order ID and original seller link |
| Outstanding Payment | Item or domestic delivery exceeded the original estimate | Check the changed amount and reason |
| Ordered | The agent bought the item | Watch for the seller's domestic dispatch |
| Shipped (Local) | Seller sent it toward the warehouse | Compare any domestic tracking with the order |
| Arrived | Item reached the warehouse and awaits inspection | Wait for the received-item evidence |
| Stored | Item is in warehouse storage | Review QC and record the return and storage dates |
The table paraphrases the official status guide rather than promising a universal time between stages. Hipobuy's page describes a normal domestic arrival range after Shipped (Local), but an individual seller can behave differently. If a status stops changing, use the order number and the last confirmed event when asking the platform for clarification. An unchanging display alone does not prove a parcel is lost.
The warehouse is a decision point
Arrived does not mean the photographed item has been approved. Hipobuy defines it as waiting for inspection. Once the product is Stored, the official status page advertises 90 days of free warehouse storage. That is time to plan a parcel, not a promise that every after-sales option stays open for 90 days. Hipobuy's separate Returns and Refunds notice says eligible products can be requested for return within five days after the order becomes Warehoused, calculated there as 120 hours starting from the next hour. Seller participation, product condition and excluded categories matter.
Put the clocks side by side. Record the actual warehouse status and timestamp shown for your own order, then read the current return option in that order. Examine warehouse QC photographs against the size and variant you saved. A listing photo proves what was advertised at a particular moment; the QC set helps you assess visible features of the item that arrived. If a key angle or measurement is missing, request clarification through the service before submitting the international parcel. Do not let the long storage period delay a time-sensitive complaint.
If an item is wrong, a return request must still be considered under the seller's terms. Hipobuy's returns page says an unconditional buyer-initiated return can involve domestic shipping in both directions and a RMB 5 service fee. It also distinguishes seller fault and other cases. Keep a factual note of the mismatch and the relevant photo. A vague statement that the item is “bad quality” is harder to assess than “the size label in the warehouse image differs from the selected option.”
A submitted parcel starts another sequence
After you choose which stored items travel together, compare shipping routes for your destination and product type. Hipobuy's Shipping Estimate asks for destination, weight in grams, and optionally type and parcel dimensions. An estimate is a planning aid. The official Order Status Display describes a submitted parcel awaiting payment, then Waiting for Packing as a paid parcel being packed, weighed and readied for logistics collection. Waiting for Confirmation may mean that actual parcel weight exceeded the estimate and an additional shipping amount is due. Check the final packed weight, route and charge rather than assuming the first quote was final.
Waiting for Delivery means the parcel completed the outgoing process and awaits collection. Shipped (International) means it has been sent abroad. These statuses belong to the parcel, not to each underlying seller order. One combined parcel may contain several orders that became Stored on different days. Keep a small manifest linking each order ID to the parcel ID and selected shipping line. This makes it easier to identify a missing item at delivery.
An example without invented timing
Imagine you select a hoodie and a pair of shoes. The hoodie becomes Ordered first, while the shoes remain Pending Orders. The hoodie is later marked Arrived; that is a cue to wait for inspection, not to expect a tracking number for international transport. When it becomes Stored, review its warehouse images promptly and note its potential return deadline. You can decide to wait for the shoes before creating a combined parcel, provided the applicable storage periods allow it. Once both items are ready and approved, the parcel follows its own packing and payment statuses.
If the packed amount differs from your earlier estimate, ask which weight or packaging detail changed. The extra amount at Waiting for Confirmation has a different cause from Outstanding Payment on an item order. Keeping these records distinct prevents accidental double counting. It also helps you decide whether a particular issue belongs with the seller, the warehouse inspection or the international carrier.
What to keep in one folder
Save the seller page or variant screenshot, agent order ID, relevant timestamps, QC set, return correspondence, parcel manifest, final paid quote and later tracking events. You do not need to collect every notification. Keep the ones that show a decision or change in responsibility. If a support request is necessary, include the exact record and stage: an item pending seller dispatch needs a different investigation from a paid parcel waiting for carrier pickup.
A useful status guide should remove uncertainty without pretending to know the outcome of your individual order. The platform's official labels tell you what stage it reports; the order page and current terms tell you what you can do next. Check both before paying a difference, approving the received item or sending the parcel abroad.
